Anthropologists seek to understand the many varied peoples and cultures of the world — past and present — and how they came to be. We offer a major and minor for students interested in better understanding our diverse world.
Missouri State is one of very few universities that offers an emphasis in public sociology, which focuses on community engagement. Our program integrates sociological skills into course work and research, providing opportunities to work with local organizations.
Sociology and anthropology majors go on to careers in many different fields including human services and non-profit management, healthcare, the justice system, and research, among others.
