Criminal Justice Student Organizations

 The Criminal Justice Society

The Criminal Justice Society, one of our student organizations, has been very busy this year. Under the capable leadership of Missouri State junior and criminology major Ryan Dunn, the group sponsored several professional presentations and a ride-along with the Kansas City Police Department.

Among the professionals who spoke to the CJSociety this year are Tracey Oxendine, Missouri Probation and Parole specialist in violent sex offenders, along with several other representatives from the field of law enforcement.

Members of the Criminal Justice SocietyWith a membership of about 30 students, Ryan is joined on the organization’s Executive Committee by Vice President Liz Michenfelder, Secretary Cindy Benson, Treasurer Crystal Conley and Social Chair Kyle Campbell. This semester’s public affairs activity involved several members going door-to-door on Halloween collecting food for Food Harvest of the Ozarks, a non-profit organization that distributes food and other essential items to those in need.

The Department is very proud of this outstanding student organization and of the officers who work so hard to keep this group involved with the profession and the community.
